Hringsdalur í Arnarfirði - Fornleifarannsókn 2006 [1.02 MB]
In 2006 human bones were found eroding in Hringsdalur W-Iceland. An excavation was conducted and two pagan burials uncovered, one of which was badly eroded but the other completely undisturbed. The grave goods were unusually rich, among them a shield-boss of a type previously unknown in Iceland. Earlier stories of bone finds in Hringsdalur exist but it was not until now that these could be confirmed.
