Abstract:This archaeobotanical project is part of the larger archaeoenvironmental section of the Barbuda Historical Ecology Project. It is also part of a Ph.D. research at Université Laval (supervised by Dr. Allison Bain) that includes the study of long-term human-plant interactions in both Barbuda and French Guiana.

This project aims at studying economy and ecology in response to human occupations. Therefore, five archaeobotanical types of remains are studied: seeds, charcoal, pollen, phytoliths and starch residues.
