dataARC

The dataARC project brings together an international research team to build a more comprehensive collaborative infrastructure, including the North Atlantic Biocultural Organization (NABO) and other scholars in the region. We have carefully designed and built a digital toolset that enables researchers to discover data about the long-term human ecodynamics of the North Atlantic. This website and the associated dataARC Search Tool are the products of this collaboration.

Our team have directly observed the environmental, climate, and social change in the Arctic. These changes are taking place faster than previously seen by contemporary society (Hodgkins 2014) so it is especially important that scholars of the North Atlantic store and share their insights in a manner that helps facilitate rapid, scientifically sound decision-making. Thus, we have brought together an initial selection of diverse, heterogeneous datasets from international research teams, and we are committed to continue building our dataARC community.

This project was funded by the National Science Foundation (1519660 and 1637076).
